Thymus Elfin Thyme
Thymus serpyllum 'Elfin'
Elfin Thyme
One of our best sellers! This miniature thyme forms a tight solid mat of gray/green foliage that is a perect choice for a lawn replacement. Gorgeous when in bloom with light pink flowers in summer. Creates a versatile groundcover that will cover dry slopes, fill in between stepping stones or creep over a rock. This plant needs sharp drainage to succeed. Over watering will impair growth. Very drought tolerant.

Tips from Fran
Thymus Elfin has become “the” lawn substitute plant for people. Thus its placement in the Tough Ten category!  It is slower to roam that the other thymes, but stays put and doesn’t take over your garden. It tends to be a heavy feeder and general liquid fertilizers work best throughout the growing season from March through June.
