STEPABLES® Adds Canadian Grower, Steps Up Production in North America
Under a Foot Plant
Company increases production and distribution of the STEPABLES® branded
plants in Canada by adding Epic Plant Company to its association of growers.
March 8, 2007 –
SALEM, Ore. – STEPABLES®, a plant brand and horticulture trade
conglomerate made up of professional nursery growers in the United States
and Canada, officially announced today that it has added Epic Plant Company
to its alliance-based network, making it one of the largest plant providers
in North America. The new addition brings about significant augmentation
of production and distribution of the brand’s line of creeping perennials,
making the plants now available at independent garden centers throughout
the province of Ontario.
According to Mark
Denee, president of Epic Plant Company, production will begin immediately
with a selection of between 30-40 STEPABLES® varieties for the 2007
spring and summer seasons. Plans to boost production of additional varieties
during 2008 are likely. Denee noted that Epic became part of the STEPABLES®
consortium due to the solid position of the brand and rewarding opportunity
to make the plants available to retailers and consumers throughout the
east-central part of Canada.
