Dianthus pontederae Rachel

DIANTHUS PONTEDERAE RACHEL

Dianthus  pontederae Rachel
Rachel Dianthus DROUGHT-WISE
This is a delightful perennial that no garden should be without. Green/gray cushions give up short stemmed, double pink, powerfully fragrant little carnation flowers in late spring. Plant this gem near an entryway on next to a patio for maximum fragrance benefit! This plant needs excellent drainage to be content. Shear back blooms to keep tidy.

I fell in love with this dianthus first for its name (my daughter is named Rachel) and then for it’s overwhelming scent. It has the most insane fragrance and now is one of the very first plants you will encounter in when you enter my garden. Every passerby is intoxicated by the aroma and complete surprised at the fragrant punch of such a little flower. WOW!!!
